Overview

The Probus Club of Ascot  has been in existence since 1987 with a men-only membership limited to 70, the majority of whom are retired, semi-retired or are approaching retirement from a business or professional career.  Throughout the UK, there are many Probus clubs of single and mixed gender membership; in Ascot there is also a Ladies’ Probus Club, which was formed in 1999.

We meet once a month, normally on the second Monday at Mill Ride Golf Club Ascot SL5 8LT at 12 noon for 12.45 pm.  Luncheon is a fixed price set menu usually of a main course and a dessert or cheese and a cash bar.

At each regular monthly meeting there is usually a speaker who gives a presentation, with the subjects varying over a wide range of interests through the year.  The exceptions are the Club’s AGM meeting in June and the Christmas Luncheon in December, to which partners and friends are invited.  Attendance at each of the regular monthly meetings is usually about 45 members.

Two major annual social occasions in the year have been the Summer Luncheon Party and the Christmas Luncheon.

Other activities or group outings are offered on an occasional basis.
